Pinewood Studios (www.pinewoodgroup.com) has recently chosen an Octopussy 1715 TWIN to incorporate in its new technical equipment for filming movies. The Studios, located in Buckingham, are part of Pinewood Shepperton plc, which also own Shepperton and Teddington Studios.

Pinewood itself is home to; Europe’s only permanently filled studio based underwater filming stage, one of Europe’s largest exterior tanks, eleven stages with interior tanks and the UK’s leading commercial media diving specialist.

The Octopussy 1715 TWIN, a tracked access platform with a maximum working height of 17m, is equipped with both spotlights and a large camera. This model was specifically chosen by Pinewood because it is one of the most compact spider platforms, in today’s market, to offer this 17m operational height. This now allows the studio to reach places that were previously unreachable.

The new platform has also been modified with remote controls to allow the camera to be manoeuvred at height.

During the short period it has been with the studios, it has already been utilised while filming scenes in the new Bourne Movie (4th episode) which features Matt Damon as the action hero Jason Bourne.
