Oil&Steel sold an Octopuss 44 to Liftworks Inc. (
www.liftworksinc.com ), a big rental company in Chicago run by Mr. Marty Starck, which has rented it to Permasteelisa (
www.permasteelisa.com ), a primary International group specialized in the construction of prestigious architectural elements.
The Octopuss 44 is used on the top of the Trump International Hotel and Tower of Chicago, a new skyscraper of 92 storeys and about 415 m height which is going to be completed next year, but which has already been operative with a 339 rooms hotel since the 28th April 2008.
Oil&Steel’s products are sold on the North American market by PM Group North America LLC, which is a sales branch of PM Group ( which owns Oil&Steel S.p.A. ), which is located in Chicago and is run by Mr. Stefano Ghesini.
The Octopuss 44 works on the last floor of the tower for completing the construction of the service equipment deposit of the high part of the skyscraper.
This particular model has been developed specificly for the American market from the Octopussy 1465, naturally following all the North American quality standards and regulations. The Octopuss 44 is able of a maximum working height of 14 m ( 46 ft ) and a lateral reach of 6,5 m ( 20 ft ) loading 120 kgs ( 264 lbs 1 operator + tools ). It can be stabilized in a square of just 2.4 x 2.4 m and it’s really compact while moving, just 78 cms wide ( 2.55 ft ) and 196 cms height ( 6.42 ft ).
